A Bit of History

Made by Stillwater Designs since 1973, Kicker audio has grown from a specialty 2-man team that built sound systems for auditoriums and churches along with professional sound systems. It is now a 220-strong team with car audio products sold in over 1,500 dealers across the country and exported to more than 2,000 dealers in about 50 countries worldwide.

In 1980, the brand moved to mobile sound systems and car audio where they are considered as one of the pioneers in bringing full-range high performance audio and speaker systems for road vehicles to wider markets.   In 2006, Kicker bought SoundGate, a respected name in high end audio to cement its expertise in bringing some of the finest sound systems for in-vehicle use.
